Mama Africa Night

Alberta African Arts and Cultural Centre (AAACCENT) has organized on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 1:00 am in the heart of Downton, its big event called "MAMA AFRICA NIGHT". It aimed to bring people together, raise awareness and celebrate African culture while officially launching its program which until now was not known to the general public. Mr. Kazir Coulibaly, Founder and Executive Director quoted Marcus Garvey's thought that a people without the knowledge of its past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.

In the presence of the Associate Minister of Immigration and Multiculturalism, the Honorable Muhammad Yaseen, the Honorable Irfan Sabir, the organizations ACFA of Calgary and Edmonton, Black Canadian Women in Action, CANAVUA, Pont Cultural Bridge, the Immigrant Portal Association and several African countries represented by their respective communities presented their specialties. We could see the Ivory Coast, Egypt, Cameroon, Burundi, Ethiopia and the two Congos just to name a few. Also add to this the performance of the well known singers such as Naxx Bitota, Tha Gate Keeper, Radwa and Ibrahima Diallo & Malala Production.

It was a total success.
